![]() They're properly big and beefy, with wobbly legs and all sorts of nice touches that make them feel of the time, despite coming from such a strange steampunk world. The size and scale of things are nice: infantry units look like proper little bugs when the biggest mechs start rolling off the production line. Character models can get a bit dodgy when you zoom in too close, but their icons stand out when you are in your big picture view, and it isn't hard to figure out the relative strength of forces once you've played for a few hours. It helps that everything in Iron Harvest looks and sounds so good. You've just got to make sure you're ready with your supermechs by the time the other side's come online. A massive, AT-AT-esque hulk wandering across the European countryside is going to make quick work of a bunch of dudes with single-shot rifles, no matter how you slice it. The most powerful mechs tend to throw the balance off a bit, but that's kind of to be expected. The economic swing of low-level units destroying much more expensive ones (and then stealing the resources from their charred out husks) is satisfying and a great way to turn the tide. Even the most basic mechs are mighty, but Iron Harvest is a game that rewards you for planning your tactics.Ī clever group of grenadiers can lay waste to superior firepower if you position them correctly and plan your techniques correctly. They start relatively small: sort of 1920s versions of exosuits. Catching infantry out in the open with her is a fairly easy win.Įventually, the mechs are going to come out and play. The first campaign as Polania sees you controlling a teenage sniper with a pet bear. You've also got a few hero units at your command. You can eventually build into stronger infantry units, like grenadiers and engineers, who use explosives, repair units, lay down traps, and specialize in a variety of other techniques. Basic infantry is strong at setting up bottlenecks and laying down impressive amounts of low-level firepower. When it comes to infantry, you're encouraged to use cover and a variety of tactics as you work your way up the tech tree towards your bigger guns. Iron Harvest is mostly concerned with tactics and combat, as opposed to winning through supreme economy management. Base building is not overly complicated, and the three nations all follow nearly identical tech trees and early unit requirements. There are several control points scattered across the map, and the more you control, the quicker you generate resources. Gameplay boils down to pretty expected fare, though. There are several different types of missions, with plenty of evolving stories and optional objectives. There are some multiplayer options and some indications those might get beefed up in the future, but the cinematic campaign is where you'll get the most bang for your buck at launch.Įach of the three major nations - Polania, Rusviet, and Saxony - have their own story to tell, with different heroes and environments to blast your way through. Iron Harvest is more focused (right now, at least) on its single-player aspect. If you enjoy RTS games like Company of Heroes but want to go a little more fantastical with your approach, Iron Harvest is a perfect fit. These mechs are the heart and soul of Iron Harvest they help turn an otherwise solid but unremarkable game into much more of a spectacle. Many of them look like they're made from repurposed farm equipment, and they spit just as much black smoke into the air as they do ordinance onto the battlefield. They aren't slick and graceful alien beasts. This is the "World of 1920+," a post-WWI alternate history that sees the world's remaining national superpowers creating massive diesel mechs in a steampunk arms race. ![]()

![]() No idea what that extra $5 is about, but you probably should still go for that release because the kicks are worth it. These two pairs will drop on Ma, for $80 instead of the initial $75. All in all, it’s gonna be one heck of a release! The top half of the shoe comes in gray, with the bottom rocking a paint-ish cream color. The pair features a really cool DIY-looking aesthetic. Kim Kardashian teased the moon gray pair not long ago on Instagram. The second pair though is where all the action happens. So if you’re into the neutral vibe, stay tuned. Yep, that one! Well luckily, if you missed that drop, you’ll be able to cop the two new colorways! The first pair “Sand” is very, and I mean VERY, similar colorway to the OG “Ararat”. Remember back in June 2020 the OG Yeezy Foam RNNR Ararat? It was a US-exclusive, and everyone bashed it but it now resells for 5 times its original retail. Why? Because the pair of Pearls resells for around $450 ! Yeezy Foam RNNR “MXT Moon Gray” & “Sand” And if you wanna see the retail prices for the different silhouettes, check out this Yeezy retail guide ! The pair is a pretty awesome catch, and if you manage to snag a pair or more, you’re lucky. Yeezy Ash Pearl will drop on Ma, for $220 as usual. But make sure you check out Yeezy names for some interesting stories! Finally, Yeezy Ash Pearl gets its name from the pearl color, and that makes sense. Now, the pair features the interesting patchwork-like upper in a mix of tan, cream, white, and grey! The Boost midsole sits in a two-toned cream and tan shell. We already got Yeezy Ash Blue and Yeezy Ash Stone ! So if you copped the first two, you can complete the Ash pack with the new Yeezy Ash Pearl. Success on today’s drops including the Yeezy 450s & the Jordan 1 “University Blue” /QnHrWO1Jav This week’s Supreme drop was FIRE with our users getting their hands on those Dunks & other cool items□ It’s been a great week for NSB with lots of cooking□ And if you wanna get your fair share of the pie, make sure you get your NSB key ASAP! You could also try to win a key for free, what’s the harm in participating in a giveaway? We’re talking about the Supreme Dunks on week 2, the University Blue Jordan 1s, and Yeezy 450, NSB’s got it all. So where are they dropping, and how can you get them? We’re gonna answer that for you!īoy, you better have run NSB last week, because it copped some of the most demanded and sought-after drops of 2021. Luckily, two interesting pairs are dropping this March! The first is a pretty serene Yeezy Ash Pearl, while the second is a sick Yeezy Foam RNNR. It’s always nice to have a new Yeezy in the daily rotation, isn’t it? And when this Yeezy rocks a neutral colorway, you know it’s gonna be your next beater! One you could get creative while styling because Yeezys are always a statement piece. ![]() ![]() Named after the famous physicist, the Fermi paradox is the contradiction between the high probability for extraterrestrial life and the lack of evidence supporting the existence of aliens. This dilemma was the reason for Enrico Fermi’s lunchtime remark that sparked decades of research and speculation. One mystery surfaced above the rest: “Where is everybody?” But even with these groundbreaking discoveries, many were left feeling like something was missing. And in 1923, Edwin Hubble discovered concrete evidence for the existence of galaxies other than the Milky Way. In the 17th century, Galileo used the revolutionary development of the telescope to observe the characteristics of the Milky Way. Scholars were already incredibly fascinated by the possibilities that lay beyond our planet prior to modern technology. With hundreds of billions of planets, is it really possible that humans are alone in the universe?Įven before there was concrete evidence that could quantify the size of the universe, it was clear how vast it was. Scientists estimate that each star has an average of about ten planets, an approximation calculated just from the planets that have survived throughout the 4.5 billion years of our universe’s existence. There are tens of billions of galaxies in our observable universe, each containing millions of stars. The Mars 2020 Mission will land in the Jezero Crater on Mars, which contains an ancient delta system where NASA scientists are hoping to find evidence of ancient life. The game seems to have maps populated by ancient structures and debris, and not simply empty expands of space, and there seems to be a lot of conflict, so Ancient Space is bound to pack a lot of tactical action. The Fermi paradox: Possibilities of extraterrestrial life The video also provides what is probably the most important thing when evaluating the potential of an upcoming game, a lengthy show of gameplay, showing exactly how the game will play out, complete with resource management and space battles. He reveals that the game won't be focused on drama, on any big emotional pieces that highlight a few characters, because it wouldn't work, given the game's huge scope.Īs such, the story can't be about the troubles of individual characters, but instead will be much broader, having much deeper repercussions and concerning life at a global scale. #Ancient space paradox seriesThe video that Paradox released is the first in a series featuring talks with Game Producer Joe Fricano, who described the upcoming real-time strategy game as being about "tiny spaceships on a tiny screen blowing up other tiny spaceships on tiny screen." Players will be challenged to scout ahead, locate previous resources, harvest them and improve their ships with new designs and abilities, then command them in real-time 3D battles against aliens, pirates and other such unsavory characters that one might come in contact with in the far reaches of the universe. The game includes a star-studded voice cast, with many sci-fi veteran actors doing voiceover work and making sure that you will be as immersed as possible in the deep-space exploration process. The game is focused on single-player, enabling the gamer to become the leader of a fleet exploring deep space, in the so-called Black Zone, a naturally occurring anomaly area, and come to face mysterious enemies whom they will have to prove their mettle against. The game seems to have come from out of nowhere, but judging by the way it looks in the gameplay vids, it's certainly going places. In any case, the reveal of the game was quite a pleasant surprise, with a more pleasant one coming not even a month after, in the form of the game's release date on September 23. The game's most successful marketing slogan would be "it sounds a lot like Homeworld," as the cult classic sci-fi strategy game still has many gamers pining for an encore. Publisher Paradox Interactive and developer CreativeForge Games released a brand new video showcasing the features of the upcoming space real-time strategy game Ancient Space. ![]() ![]() He has represented South Africa and the Southern African Region at the African Union and the United Nations. I can understand the frustration with this and absolutely what you are trying to achieve with as little pain for the users. However, I have also heard many argue that during their Skype usage users were purging conversation history from their mailbox which typically led to having to buy third party journaling solutions for compliant copies. Features such as DLP, Supervision could be employed to probably curb some of those incidents. Maybe there is a case to develop a copy the chat history into the mailbox but keep the compliant copy hidden.ĪFAIK, there is no way around this at the current time. The typical reason for this is security and compliance, and from what I understand it is also intrinsic to the persistent chat functionality within Teams itself. Unfortunately, none look like being picked up for the foreseeable future. So you can always vote on these as well as raise these at AMA's. Hi there are many uservoices for it here including Is anyone else facing this dilemma? Is there anyone from MS that can advise on this? Once an Incident has been resolved we can then close off the chat so that Teams does not become bogged down with many chat groups whilst still having access to the conversation history of each and every chat. Its not a simple matter of going back to a particular chat group setup for a particular incident only to discuss another incident - we need to keep chat for each incident separate in which case we need to be able to have the chat and then it saves automatically to a location and should be easily accessible. Its great that we can have chat groups but considering that our IM team deal with 200+ incidents a year the amount of chat groups being created in Teams will get quite heavy. The manager was pretty much sold on the benefit of Teams but there is just that snagging point of where conversation history is stored. Even the medium difficulty, which is the second of four presets, can be punishingly difficult if you don't play it smart. Since your visibility changes when you're standing or crouching, even tasks like hiding a body have to be thought through to ensure you're in nobody's line of sight.ĭesperados III isn't a walk in the park. Characters like Doc or Kate can barely drag a body while in a hunched state, Cooper carries them standing up with no issue, and the bulky Hector can carry two at once. It adds a tactical layer that is fun to mess with.Ī character's physique also determines how well they can move deceased enemies to hide them. For example, she can link two enemies and have them share the same fate when you hurt or kill either one of them. While I can see people being slightly irritated by the inclusion of supernatural abilities, it opens up the gameplay in a fun way. Doc McCoy is an actual doctor and a capable sniper, and later in the game, we meet a new character, Isabelle Moreau, who's skilled in voodoo practices. Hector can whistle to lure enemies into a bear trap, and he has a shotgun to take out several enemies at once. Cooper dual-wields revolvers, has a throwing knife, and can use his coin to distract enemies or startle animals. She can also use disguises or flirt with enemies to lure them away from their post. Kate O'Hara cannot stealth kill enemies, but she can knock them out. The way you tackle missions depends greatly on who is in your party, since characters have specific strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes, you start alone and need to meet up with other characters at a specific spot, and other times, you start with a small group. Your group grows to a maximum size of five, but the game decides who you control in a given level. The characters are also part of the puzzle. Terrain and enemy positions are usually well thought out, so we need to carefully avoid or take out key characters to create openings for our group to slip by - or kill them all, if that's your prerogative. The mission maps usually have a few features, and enemies are everywhere, making each encounter feel like a puzzle. Your characters are dropped onto the map and given a handful of objectives to complete. View cones, safe zones, and restricted areas are always clearly marked. It's not necessarily about realism but about adhering to the game's rules to stay undetected while solving the puzzle. The order of the day is stealth, which works similar to the recent Hitman reboots but with more difficulty. While it includes a few frantic shootouts on the dusty streets of typical western scenery, your weapon of choice is usually anything but a firearm. Desperados is a tactical stealth game where, from an isometric perspective, we guide a group of characters to complete objectives on expansive maps. The undisputed star is the level design and gameplay, which thoroughly impressed me at Gamescom 2018. We still have a bird's eye view of a sprawling map and can command one or several of the characters to kill, sneak by or sabotage the environment to achieve a goal. All of the characters you encounter are stereotypical, but they have unique personality traits that are also reflected in the gameplay, which hasn't changed much over the years. From that perspective, it works incredibly well, and short cut scenes moved the story along at a decent pace. The story often felt like a means to an end, since it throws your characters into a lot of overwhelming situations and then you need to dig yourself out. The story is bare bones and slightly cheesy, but it remains engaging throughout, and the latter half has some interesting moments. #Desperados 3 cast seriesIn case you were concerned, you won't need any background in the series before jumping in. While I would've loved to see an actual sequel, a prequel makes a lot of sense, since the last entry was released more than 14 years ago. #Desperados 3 cast Ps4If you're as eager as me to see whether the team captured or surpassed the quality of Desperados, fret not, because Desperados III turned out better than I could have hoped on the consoles, including the PS4 version that we're reviewing today.ĭesperados III tells a prequel story about how gunslinger John Cooper met key characters of the cast, and the title eventually leads up to the first two entries. Here we are, as if my prayers were heard, with another main entry in the Desperados series courtesy of Mimimi and THQ Nordic. If you had asked me a few years ago about the game or genre that I miss the most in today's gaming landscape, my answer would've surely entailed a remake or sequel to either Commandos or Desperados - or any other game that marries stealth and isometric real-time strategy. ![]() |
